Context-based caching in mobile information-centric networks

Wireless networking is expected to sustain the direct interaction between personal users’ devices, and provide connectivity on large-scale resource-constrained devices. However, conventional protocols fail in large scale mobile wireless environments, due node mobility, dynamic topologies, intermittent connectivity. Information-Centric Networking (ICN) has been considered most promising candidate overcome drawbacks of host-centric architectures where Named Data (NDN) one well-known studied within ICN paradigm. The main objective this work improve both content availability network performance environments regarding This provided through a context-based approach for caching admission policy providing in-network replication, facilitating efficient timely delivery information. Content popularity, freshness, proximity, source mobility type density are some metrics decision. We conducted comparative study our proposal NDN strategy by using two different datasets with real traces, addressing communication. According results, we observed that multi-criteria cache improves hits, evictions, request satisfaction ratios thus improving efficiency.
